ABOUT US
Our Team
Attorney Michelle M. Stoeck is a graduate of Marquette University Law School and has been practicing law for over twenty-four years. She has extensive litigation and appellate court experience in the areas of family law and estate planning, including cases involving complex income and asset structures and highly-contested issues. Additionally, she is a trained mediator, has arbitrated asset and support disputes, worked as parent coordinator in post-divorce cases, and served as guardian ad litem in placement and custody disputes. Moreover, she helps clients prepare comprehensive estate plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and probate-avoidance documents. She has also helped her clients with probate matters, including informal and formal probate and summary proceedings.

Her primary goal is to help her clients make the best- informed decisions that will create the best situation for themselves and their families moving forward. She is compassionate, attentive to detail, and seeks creative, proactive solutions to difficult problems. She understands the additional stress that the cost of legal services can add to already difficult situations, and she offers alternative ways of accessing legal assistance by offering limited-scope ("by the project") representation, as well as traditional advocacy, collaborative and cooperative representation, mediation services for couples who seek to divorce as economically as possible, and competitively-priced estate plans. She works diligently to get the best results for you.

Sarah Vodak has worked as a legal assistant for her entire career. She has expertise in the areas of family law, estate planning, criminal and other legal matters. She has worked with clerks in courts all over South-Eastern Wisconsin and has an extensive background in e-filing requirements. She is efficient, hard-working, and exceptionally caring. She is also an account and billing specialist, as well.
Together, they are dedicated to offering the highest standard of service to clients.

Michelle will discuss your situation with you and then discuss your options for proceeding. She will help you select the best strategy for moving forward. The cost of future limited scope representation, advocacy or mediation will be provided to you at that time, and a Contract to Hire will be sent to you with payment options.

Michelle offers alternative payment methods, including cash, check, credit and debit card. She offers limited scope representation for parties who need legal services but cannot afford full retainer/advanced fee payments.
Estate Plan Creation, Review, or Modification
Please email Michelle or Sarah at michelle@stoecklaw.com or sarah@stoecklaw.com.
Many clients are calling about estate planning for the first time. In these instances, we start by sending a questionnaire to you by email or mail, for you to complete and return to us. Michelle will review the questionnaire and then provide you with a detailed letter setting forth your options, the cost of the options, and her recommendations. We then typically discuss the options by telephone and then get started with a Contract to Hire. Michelle then provides drafts for review and discussion. She tries to make the process as easy and as stress-free for clients.

Other clients already have a plan or partial plan in place, but have modifications that they would like made or questions about what was drafted and whether it is sufficient for their needs. In this instance, please call Michelle at (414) 373.5782 to set up a time to talk discuss what you have and what changes you would like made. Michelle will need the original documents in order to make changes, and we will discuss ways to provide her with that information.
Mediation Services
Divorce, Legal Separation, Paternity, or other Family Law Disputes
In mediation, the parties utilize a neutral lawyer who works with the couple jointly but does not represent or advocate for either party. The lawyer mediator educates parties about the law, guides discussions to help them resolve issues, and drafts and files legal documents. Mediation is intended to help parties reach durable agreements that meet the needs of the family. Mediation may include child specialists or financial specialists as needed to assist the parties in making well-informed family and financial decisions. Mediation is possible in all types of cases, including those with domestic violence, addiction, gambling or trust issues. Mediation is, in most instances, much more cost-effective than utilizing two attorneys. If the parties agree, Michelle collects information and then schedules meetings with the couple typically by Zoom or telephone and works to efficiently resolve issues.

Please contact her office should you have questions about these matters or other legal issues.
